Construction site safety management platform aims to digitize high-risk industries worldwide
1Breadcrumb, a worksite and process management software platform initially focused on construction, has successfully raised $4 million to support its international expansion ambitions. The company aims to enhance safety and productivity across various worksites, moving beyond construction into other industries still reliant on paper-based workflows.
The platform, likened to pioneering tech unicorn SafetyCulture, currently serves over 25,000 subcontractors and 300,000 site workers across Australia and the UK. CEO Simon Elliott emphasized 1Breadcrumb’s mission to streamline safety requirements and position itself as a pivotal player in transforming worksite management.
“In many industries, including construction, outdated practices like paper trails and manual administration still dominate. Our platform aims to replace these siloed approaches with transparent, digital solutions that simplify compliance and site management.”
Simon Elliott, CEO 1Breadcrumb
Elliott highlighted the platform’s user-centric design, focusing on empowering on-site individuals with easy-to-use digital tools that foster transparency and efficiency in compliance and issue management.
With the global construction market valued at US$12 trillion, the investment round was led by Five V Capital. Chris Gillings from Five V underscored 1Breadcrumb’s role in completing the technology stack for high-risk industries.
“Australia’s leadership in digitizing the construction sector, driven by regulatory demands and cost pressures, positions 1Breadcrumb to drive efficiencies and enhance margins. By empowering on-site workers and leveraging their data, the platform enables significant productivity gains and operational insights.”

As 1Breadcrumb looks to expand globally, the funding will support scaling operations and enhancing technological capabilities to meet the evolving needs of worksite safety management across different regions.
