UbiPark, a popular parking mobile app in Australia, has recently secured an additional investment of $500,000. This funding will be used to introduce new in-app technologies that aim to automate and streamline the parking experience for both drivers and business operators. With this latest investment, UbiPark’s total funding has now surpassed $1 million.
Since its launch in December 2015, UbiPark has provided a convenient solution for motorists to find and reserve the nearest and most affordable off-street parking spaces throughout Australia. As part of its ongoing development, UbiPark plans to introduce a feature called ‘Access,’ which will automate the opening of car park boom gates as a vehicle approaches. This innovation eliminates the need for drivers to fumble with buttons and tickets, enhancing the overall convenience of the parking process.
Mosstyn Howell, the Founder and CEO of UbiPark, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming ‘Access’ feature and its potential to replace traditional monthly parking passcards. Furthermore, it will serve as the foundation for in-app payment functionality, which is scheduled to be launched later this year. UbiPark aims to revolutionize the Australian market with the introduction of Access and other new technologies, made possible through their recent round of funding.
Leading parking management groups, such as Care Park and Metro Parking, have already signed on to adopt UbiPark’s innovative technology. The Access feature has been successfully implemented and is currently operational at the 650-bay car park located at St Kilda Road Towers on Queens Road in Melbourne, as well as at 16 Bond Street in Melbourne. In the coming months, UbiPark plans to expand the rollout of Access to other sites across the country.
UbiPark’s advancements don’t end there. They have scheduled the next phase of their technological upgrade to be launched in December. This phase will introduce in-app payments, enabling motorists to locate, access, and pay for the most affordable parking spaces through their smartphones. This development is expected to eliminate the need for pay booths, as well as the hassle of misplaced tickets and receipts, providing a seamless end-to-end parking experience for users.
Mosstyn Howell emphasized UbiPark’s commitment to developing innovative parking technologies that save motorists both time and money. He acknowledged that while there have been significant technological advancements in recent years, the current parking model has not kept up with these changes. UbiPark aims to bridge this gap by leveraging technology to reinvent the way car parks function, ultimately helping motorists reach their destinations smoothly and efficiently.
