As the world grapples with an ever-expanding digital landscape, effective data management, security, and strategic utilization have become paramount for defense and security organizations.

JLL is actively collaborating with Australia’s Department of Defence to elevate the nation’s data maturity and foster a robust data culture. This initiative supports a local Australian SME in streamlining Defence processes through digitization, prioritizing efficiency and user experience.

Partnering with Analytical Progression, a leading Australian data and analytics firm, JLL is driving government process digitization. Recognized as Australia’s #1 Analytics Leader by the Institute of Analytical Professionals Australia, Analytical Progression brings a wealth of expertise to this strategic endeavor.

Geoff Camp, JLL’s Defence Lead, highlighted Analytical Progression’s impressive skill set and their track record of successful digital transformation projects. JLL’s role is to guide them through the complex landscape of government contracts, ensuring compliance with stringent security and regulatory requirements while leveraging their expertise.

JLL is committed to empowering smaller players by leveraging its extensive network to open doors to government contracts. By collaborating with SMEs like Analytical Progression, JLL can offer agile solutions that incorporate innovative digital transformation ideas and tools often associated with startups, all while prioritizing a customer-first approach.

Sean Pereira, CEO and Data Scientist at Analytical Progression, explained that their digital transformation projects take a holistic approach, integrating analytics, customer experience, design, and technical implementation. By breaking down information silos, they unlock the power of data to drive informed decision-making and boost productivity.

Pereira expressed gratitude for Defence’s ongoing support, emphasizing the importance of fostering collaboration between large corporations and smaller enterprises. This three-way partnership model, involving PRIMEs, SMEs, and government entities, is crucial for driving growth and innovation.

The initial project between JLL and Analytical Progression focused on developing a data diagnostic tool tailored for SMEs and Indigenous Businesses. This complex initiative aimed to modernize existing data architecture, streamline reporting processes, identify operational efficiencies, deliver actionable insights, and showcase the impact of Defence’s support on businesses while also uncovering potential new partnerships.

The project’s first phase was completed in less than a year, and subsequent developments have led to the creation of a more advanced, digitally driven analytics platform. The project’s success was recognized at the 2020 Commonwealth Procurement Awards for Excellence, where it received the Gold Award for Engaging with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Analytical Progression’s customer-centric approach has earned them recognition as a finalist for SME of the Year at the Australian Defence Industry Awards 2023. This honor prompted Pereira to reflect on the company’s journey and the significance of collaboration.

He expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in Analytical Progression by both JLL and Defence, acknowledging that such achievements would not be possible without the support of their valued partners.
