Jasper, a promising Proptech startup from New Zealand, has successfully secured $2.3 million in seed funding from M7 Real Estate, an asset manager based in Europe. The company’s mission is to democratize commercial real estate investments by providing a platform for fractional ownership.
According to a report by GoodReturns.co.nz, Jasper’s co-founder Mark Campbell expressed excitement over the investment from M7, saying that it would help the company accelerate the democratization of commercial property investment and launch its platform later this year. He also mentioned that the support from an established European business like M7 is a testament to the changing property investment landscape, which is increasingly being driven by technology.
Jasper’s objective is to digitize the entire investment process, from purchasing and onboarding to management. Additionally, it plans to introduce liquidity to investors by offering a platform that enables them to trade investments amongst themselves in a secondary market.
Over the next three years, the company plans to utilize the funds to grow its engineering team, obtain additional properties, and extend its product to other regions such as Australia, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States.
M7 Real Estate’s CEO, Richard Croft, acknowledges the significance of Jasper’s technology-driven marketplace and the potential impact it could have on the commercial property industry as an investor and asset manager.
