Rent.com.au partners with Novatti to offer international payment choices for RentPay customers

ASX-listed Rent.com.au, Australia’s premier platform for renters, has expanded its RentPay platform to cater to expatriate professionals, new migrants, and foreign students who constitute a significant portion of Australian renters. Collaborating with fellow ASX-listed company Novatti Group, Rent.com.au now provides Alipay, WeChat Pay, and UnionPay payment options for RentPay customers.

“RentPay aims to offer choice and flexibility to renters while ensuring property managers gain efficiency and payment certainty. By introducing these popular international payment options, we address the growing preference among students, expats, and migrants to use these platforms, enhancing our agent customers’ position in the payments technology landscape without significant investment. These platforms offer a range of services, from chat and social media to shopping and finance, making them popular choices for renters. RentPay now enables customers to seamlessly pay their rent through these platforms, enhancing the overall rental experience.”

    Greg Bader, Rent.com.au CEO

    HOW IT WORKS

The integration into RentPay simplifies the payment process for users, allowing them to select Alipay, WeChat Pay, or UnionPay within the RentPay app. After authorizing the transfer, funds are deposited directly into their RentPay account, ready to be disbursed to the real estate agent’s trust account.

This unique structure offers renters flexibility in payment method and timing while ensuring agencies receive funds on time and in the required manner, facilitating easy reconciliation.

Bader expressed excitement about offering these payment methods to customers, emphasizing increased choice and timely payments. He acknowledged Novatti as a valued partner, highlighting the integration as the next step in their collaboration to enhance the rental payment experience.

“RentPay simplifies rent payments, making it easier for renters to use funds from international accounts or family members.”

    Novatti, CEO Mark Healy

Rent.com.au plans to continue offering renter-friendly payment options and aims to become the preferred payment solution for agencies in their sales pipeline.
