Queensland Entrepreneur Launches Revalu8, a $1.5M Funded Proptech Startup Empowering Property Buyers and Sellers
Queensland entrepreneur Chris Bilborough founded Revalu8, a startup aimed at empowering property buyers and sellers, after a real estate scandal that nearly jeopardized his career. Australians spend $10 billion annually on property sales, but a majority of this money goes to real estate agents and advertisers. With $1.5 million in seed funding from private investors, Bilborough launched Revalu8, a free platform that enables buyers and sellers to trade directly or through an agent, facilitating more transparent price negotiations.
Revalu8, in development for six years, recently launched its beta version, attracting 3,000 people and around 300 real estate agents. The platform aims to provide buyers with unbiased, comparative information about properties based on real data, allowing users to make well-informed decisions when investing. To ensure accuracy, sellers are encouraged to have their property valued by an accredited valuer before listing it on the site.
