Unveiling a Glimpse of Cutting-Edge Proptech Solutions Set to Flourish in Australia’s Market
The inaugural Pitchfest, hosted at the Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club on May 27th, emerged as a pivotal event in the Australian proptech scene, featuring eight promising tech firms vying for a coveted $10,000 equity-free prize to propel their growth and market presence.
Despite being the first of its kind, Sam Almaliki, founder and facilitator of the PropTech Angel Investor Network, assured attendees that more opportunities would soon arise for proptech entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations and compete for prizes.
“There’s a palpable hunger for innovation in the proptech ecosystem, and we’re committed to offering our investors and industry stakeholders the best possible opportunities.”

In partnership with REACH Australia and New Zealand, the event focused on supporting property and technology-focused startups seeking funding below $4 million with a valuation under $20 million.
The participating firms pitched diverse platforms addressing pressing issues such as accessibility to conservation land investment, streamlining documentation transfer from developers to owners, and bridging the trust gap between agents and the public.
Claiming both the cash prize and the people’s choice award was ListAssist, presented by co-founder and CEO Chris McGoldrick. Operating in the US market, ListAssist empowers agents with autonomy amid growing frustrations with listing platforms and hefty commissions.
McGoldrick highlighted ListAssist’s AI-driven listing writing tool and innovative search function, allowing consumers to describe their ideal home and receive tailored results, bypassing traditional keyword searches.
A panel of esteemed judges, including representatives from REACH Australia and New Zealand, the Real Estate Institute of Queensland, Real Estate Industry Partners, and the Proptech Association, unanimously selected ListAssist as the winner. However, they expressed keen interest in the remaining contenders, acknowledging their innovative concepts and offering constructive feedback.
The competing proptech firms showcased a diverse array of solutions:
- SquareBySquare: Tokenizing rainforest investment to support conservation.
- Hubble: Offering product analysis for predicting a building’s energy star rating.
- Bike Party: Facilitating co-commuting among cyclists.
- Inndox: Streamlining handovers, maintenance, and servicing warranties.
- CAPTR: Providing instant, code-free video forms.
- Market Buy: An online offer management platform enhancing agent-consumer communication.
- YepAI: Specializing in AI avatars powered by a business-oriented generative AI engine.
Each presenter passionately articulated how their product aimed to enhance efficiency and user experience within the property sector.
As Almaliki acknowledged, persuading strangers to invest in one’s vision is no easy feat, commending all founders for their courage and conviction in presenting their innovative solutions.
