Tired of disorganized project photos? PlanRadar’s AI-powered SiteView offers a comprehensive visual archive, eliminating the need for endless scrolling
PlanRadar, a leading digital platform for construction, real estate, and facilities management, has introduced a groundbreaking feature to simplify visual documentation of ongoing building projects.
Previously, photographic documentation often led to a cluttered camera roll, making it challenging to locate specific images later. PlanRadar’s latest innovation, SiteView, aims to transform this process by providing a meticulous visual archive of project progression at every stage of development.
Using a 360-degree camera attached to a helmet, construction teams capture images while walking through the site. SiteView then seamlessly transfers these photographs to the PlanRadar app and integrates them into a 2D plan of the site.
The “compare” feature enables side-by-side image comparisons of the same location at different stages of development, offering invaluable insights into project evolution.
Ibrahim Imam, group co-CEO of PlanRadar, hailed SiteView as a game-changer for users, emphasizing its ability to provide visibility into every aspect of a project, ultimately reducing rework.
Imam highlighted the feature’s user-friendly interface and high accuracy, enabling users to achieve comprehensive visual documentation with ease.
SiteView leverages simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM) technology, akin to that used in driverless cars, to meticulously survey environments in motion. AI-powered computer vision algorithms ensure depth estimation and accurate localisation, enhancing the platform’s capabilities.
Leon Ward, PlanRadar’s digital construction specialist for Australia and New Zealand, emphasized SiteView’s role in reducing on-site inspection time and facilitating team collaboration, even in remote work settings.
With minimal training required, users can set a starting position on a 2D construction plan within the PlanRadar app, walk the site, and let the sophisticated algorithms handle the rest.
SiteView is poised for its initial launch, with ongoing updates planned for the future, including building information modelling (BIM) integration and other enhancements. PlanRadar remains committed to driving innovation and delivering unparalleled value to its users in the construction industry.
