OpenAgent, an Australian real estate startup, has successfully completed a funding round, raising $1 million with investment from Trulia co-founder Pete Flint. OpenAgent’s platform ranks real estate agents based on past sales and customer reviews, and connects homeowners with the best agent in their area for their property. The startup aims to provide transparency in an industry that lacks it.
Co-founder Zoe Pointon says that OpenAgent is a service that real estate agents want, as it highlights those who do a great job rather than naming and shaming. The funds raised will be used to expand the OpenAgent team and its marketing presence. Other investors include Paul Hunyor, co-founder of One Big Switch, and Anthony Klok, a member of the Ellerston Capital Advisory Board. Pointon says that Flint is the perfect investor for OpenAgent, given his experience in building Trulia into one of the world’s largest online real estate businesses. She believes that Flint’s investment and support show a bright future for OpenAgent.
