Former Australia Post employees Chanel Costabir and Raymond Ngai co-founded a startup that emerged from the Antler program last year. The initial investment in the startup was made by Antler, and they have once again supported the pre-Seed round, along with LauchVic’s newly established Alice Anderson fund, which specifically supports female founders. Additionally, strategic Angel investors have also contributed to the fundraising.
One Key Access recently launched in Melbourne and plans to utilize the funding to expand their team and establish a presence in other states. The startup operates at the intersection of LogisticsTech and PropTech, aiming to provide authorized couriers with secure access to buildings and parcel storage, thereby facilitating the last-mile delivery industry. Through its cloud platform, One Key Access connects couriers to access control systems and parcel lockers.
The CEO of startup company Costabir recently addressed the increasing concern of parcel theft in Australia, stating that over 82% of Australian households now prefer to shop online. In response to this growing problem, Costabir introduced One Key Access, an innovative solution aimed at enabling seamless and convenient 24/7 deliveries.
At the core of One Key Access is a universal digital key that grants authorized entry to buildings and parcel lockers. By acting as the crucial link between delivery drivers and the entire smart delivery ecosystem, the company aims to streamline the process of courier access to buildings and facilitate easy delivery into parcel lockers or mail rooms.
Costabir explained, “The current delivery experience leaves much to be desired. Delivery drivers face challenges in securely delivering packages to apartment residents when they are not at home. As a result, residents often have to go to alternative locations to collect their parcels, while building managers grapple with the issue of theft from building foyers. With One Key Access, we eliminate all these frictions.”
One Key Access has already established partnerships with prominent delivery companies, including Australia Post, Aramex, Couriers Please, and DHL, enabling them to work collaboratively towards enhancing the last mile logistics process.
Laura Faulconer, an Antler Venture Partner, expressed satisfaction in supporting a team that has firsthand experience dealing with the challenges in this domain. She stated, “Having witnessed the shortcomings of previous approaches and with a keen understanding of market demands, One Key Access has successfully carved out an exciting niche that will revolutionize last mile logistics.”
Dr. Kate Cornick, the CEO of LaunchVic, applauded One Key Access as an emerging startup from Victoria. She mentioned, “We take pride in investing in One Key Access through LaunchVic’s Alice Anderson Fund, as it addresses a common pain point for thousands of Australian online shoppers. Chanel and Raymond bring their extensive commercial expertise to this issue, and the funding they have secured will aid in refining their product offering and propelling their long-term growth. This aligns with LaunchVic’s commitment to foster growth throughout the entire Victorian startup sector.”
