New Domain App Features Revolutionize Property Search Experience

In a significant move towards redefining the search experience, Domain Group has unveiled a range of innovative app features designed to elevate the consumer journey on their platform. These enhancements aim to provide easier access to essential property and pricing data while promoting transparency and confidence among buyers. The newly introduced features, such as a combined list and map view for enhanced property exploration and seamless integration of recently sold properties with live listings, reflect Domain’s commitment to revolutionizing the search process and making property hunting more transparent, intuitive, and data-driven than ever before.

As the dream of homeownership becomes increasingly elusive due to affordability concerns, surveys indicate that approximately 65% of Australians now view it as unattainable for the younger generation. The process of searching for and securing a property is often marred by high costs, complexity, and a lack of transparency.

For prospective buyers, price-related searches and access to accurate, up-to-date information have never been more crucial. Yet, according to Domain’s research, consumers cite accessing and comprehending price-related information as the most challenging aspect of their property journey. Furthermore, the study revealed that the second most significant challenge for buyers is organizing and managing their property searches.

Domain’s mission to transform the search experience is squarely aimed at addressing these obstacles by prioritizing a superior user experience, fostering trust and transparency, and providing valuable insights to guide buyers, regardless of their level of intent.

Jason Pellegrino, Managing Director and CEO of Domain expressed the significance of these updates, stating, “This is perhaps the most significant upgrade since we first launched the Domain app in 2009. Currently, most other property search apps and solutions on the global market prioritize a dated classifieds listing experience that was borrowed from the age of newsprint, not the needs of customers. Our mission to reinvent search is about challenging the market norm and leveraging Domain’s extensive technical capabilities to deliver a tailored experience to every user, focused on giving them more insights and access than ever before.”

Nathan Brumby, Chief Product and Technology Officer emphasized the importance of homeownership in the Australian context, calling it an integral part of the Australian dream. He recognized the challenges faced by many Australians in realizing this dream, often relying on trial and error and personal experience. Domain’s approach to reimagining the search process involves innovative research and development work to promote transparency, trust, efficiency, and insights for their customers.

The new app experience, available to users immediately, introduces the following features:

    1. Immersive Sold Listings Experience: Integration of recently sold listings into search results enables buyers to compare recent sales with available properties, making it faster and easier to understand pricing and value in their desired area.
    1. Dynamically Integrated Map and List View Experience: Combining map and list views into a single interface enables seamless transitions between exploring different areas and delving deeper into specific suburbs or neighborhoods, offering a more comprehensive understanding of individual properties and their surroundings.

Domain Group, listed as ASX: DHG, stands as a leading property technology and services marketplace in Australia, housing an extensive portfolio of property brands. Their mission is to instill confidence in life’s property decisions, offering a suite of products and solutions to simplify every stage of the property journey. With a commitment to environmental stewardship and a dedicated workforce of over 900 individuals, Domain Group continues to drive innovation in the property market through unique data, products, and technology, reaching an average of 7.71 million Australians each month.

Headquartered in Sydney, Domain Group upholds a strong corporate culture rooted in their values, reflecting its dedication to supporting both its customers and the environments in which it operates.
