Insight Data Solutions Government Services (IDS), a division of the Domain Group, has announced a new contract with the Western Australian Land Information Authority (Landgate) to provide property valuation services. The aim of this partnership is to ensure fair, accurate, and independent property valuations for the Western Australian community.
As part of the agreement, Landgate will replace its existing valuation system with IDS’ “VM Online,” a computer-assisted mass valuation platform. This platform will enable the Valuer-General to generate statutory valuations, which serve as the foundation for council rates, land tax, and other government charges and levies.
The implementation of this agile, modern, accurate, and interconnected valuation system will support the increasing demand for property valuations in Western Australia, aligning with the state’s annual property growth projections.
Yunyeong Kim, Domain’s Executive General Manager of Domain Insight, expressed confidence in the VM Online platform, stating that it sets the standard for valuation authorities to produce fair, consistent, and cost-effective valuations. Kim also highlighted Domain’s recent evolution, allowing them to play a more significant role in the property journey for a broader range of customers. With successful implementations in Victoria and Adelaide, the platform is expected to improve service delivery in Western Australia.
Through Insight Data Solutions, the company aims to leverage technology to enhance efficiency and transparency in land valuations. By utilizing new digital capabilities, they plan to minimize bottlenecks and streamline the valuation process.
After an 18-month configuration and deployment phase, the IDS platform will provide a comprehensive solution for the Valuer-General of Western Australia. Currently, the platform is successfully utilized by over 250 valuers and 800 council and Valuer-General staff in Victoria, as well as the Adelaide City Council in South Australia, to manage the annual statutory valuation cycles.
IDS specializes in government and corporate real estate and has been part of the Domain Insight business unit since Domain acquired the company in late 2021.
