Enviz, a leading PropTech company, has unveiled groundbreaking virtual reality (VR) technology that allows individuals to preview homes before they are constructed, using only their floor plans. The newly released Plans 3D and Plans 2D empower architects and designers to provide clients with immersive residential floor plan experiences through VR.
Plans 2D enables users to visualize floor plans in a 1:1 scale, offering a comprehensive view of the design on their mobile devices or tablets from anywhere in the world. Meanwhile, Plans 3D takes the experience a step further by creating a full-scale model of the entire home, providing an immersive augmented reality (AR) and VR experience accessible via VR headsets, smartphones, tablets, or computers.
Michael Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Enviz, emphasizes the invaluable experience of physically walking through a floor plan for Australians eager to envision their future homes.
“Being able to virtually engage with a design at their building site, with our mobile app, is an asset to the design and construction industry and its customers.”
Michael Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Enviz
Uncertainty in the final product is eradicated through the utilization of Plans 3D, which empowers proposed designs to be reviewed and validated by clients, ultimately resulting in enhanced design outcomes. The product was employed by Jye Bohm and Sophie O’Dea to preview their new home during the design stage, with their excitement and confidence in the design being expressed following their virtual walkthrough experience. Mr. Bohm described the experience as incredible, noting the observation of the height of the ceilings, the size of the rooms, and a better understanding of the house’s layout, all of which instilled great confidence in their design.
The couple’s experience highlights the practical benefits of virtual home previews, as they were able to identify necessary modifications, ultimately saving significant costs in variation fees. Mr. Shaw underscores the affordability of the product, with Plans 3D priced at $600 for a conversion of floor plans to a virtual reality walkthrough, and Plans 2D available for just $20.
Enviz aims to make the technology accessible to all architects and interior designers, considering it a valuable addition to their services. Mr. Shaw anticipates that the product will serve as a compelling tool for architects and designers to showcase their designs to clients, fostering greater customer engagement and peace of mind for all parties involved.
As demand for immersive experiences in the housing industry continues to grow, Enviz remains at the forefront of innovation, driving the Proptech sector forward with its cutting-edge VR technology for home previews.
